Mikulin Lights Up Toys for Tots Drive with Local Laughs
Invites Public to Charity Event at Island Trees Public Library
Assemblyman John Mikulin (R, C-Bethpage) is lighting up his annual Toys for Tots drive with the United States Marine Corps Reserve with a new community event at the Island Trees Public Library to bring laughter and light to the holiday season. The free “Laughs at the Library” comedy show invites the public to bring toy donations to the library, which is one of the participating drop-off sites where the public can already donate toys.
“Toys for Tots is the embodiment of community spirit, and the generosity of the public never disappoints, but this year I am overjoyed to be able to expand the drive to get the community even more involved and share in the joy with Laughs at the Library. This is sure to be a great event for all,” said Mikulin. “I’d like to thank the comedians who are donating their time and the Island Trees Public Library for their partnership, as well as all of our community partners who are serving as donation drop-off sites this year. The drive is going on now, so please drop off toys at any time. I’m looking forward to seeing you on Dec. 10!”
The toy drive officially began on Nov. 9 and will last through Dec. 15. New, unwrapped toys can be donated at Laughs at the Library featuring The Comedy Nutz trio of Mark Brier, Patty G, and Eddie Faicco on Saturday, Dec. 10th at 1 p.m. at the library, located at 38 Farmedge Road in Levittown.
The Island Trees Public Library is just one of the many participating drop-off sites for this year’s Toys for Tots drive in the 17th Assembly District. The public can also drop off donations at the Assemblyman’s office (1975 Hempstead Turnpike, Suite 202, East Meadow), the East Meadow Public Library (1886 Front Street, East Meadow), and the Plainedge Library (1060 Hicksville Road, North Massapequa).
