“When the Assembly Majority won control over both houses last fall, I knew we were in for a long two years; however, I never expected to see so much disagreement among state Democratic leaders. This morning, the Assembly Majority proposed their one-house budget resolution calling to increase taxes by over $5.7 billion over the next two years and rejecting a permanent property tax cap. Meanwhile, the Senate Majority and the governor have both proposed making the property tax cap permanent, things which Senate and Assembly Minority are also in support of. They need to stop fighting us so hard, and instead work with us to create a better New York.”
