The bill coming up for a vote in the state Legislature today is smoke and mirrors. Despite the headline the majority conferences put on it, the text of the bill expands and extends the governor’s extraordinary emergency powers indefinitely. This is a contract extension and an endorsement of the governor, plain and simple. In light of the ever-increasing revelations that continue to be exposed about the governor and his administration, this is totally unacceptable.
