Lemondes Memorializes Oct. 6 As Coaches Day in New York
Assemblyman John Lemondes (R,C-LaFayette) has memorialized Sunday, Oct. 6 as Coaches Day in the state of New York. Coaches play an incredible role in youth development and the furtherance of our society. They teach our children valuable lessons such as sportsmanship, strategy and the importance of academics. Lemondes is also taking time to recognize two of his own coaches: Buzz White and Jack William, both of whom were Vietnam War veterans and instilled the values of hard work and discipline in their athletes.
“October 6 is a day for us to recognize all of the hard work and effort coaches from across our state put in as they teach, train and mentor the next generation,” said Lemondes. “From the grueling practices to the Friday night lights, coaches are instrumental every step of the way. Not only do they teach students the fundamentals of their sport, but they also serve as role models as they continue to grow. The coaches I had including Buzz White and Jack Williams impacted my life, and I want to ensure every child has the opportunity to participate in these programs. I think I can speak for all New Yorkers in thanking each and every one of our coaches for all they do to teach and inspire the next generation.”
