Giglio Comments On Spitzer’s Budget
Assemblyman Joe Giglio (R,I,C-Gowanda) today commented on Governor Eliot Spitzer’s first Executive Budget saying while it looks good on paper, much more needs to be done to control spending and provide real property tax relief for middle-class families.
“This budget only begins to address the problems facing New Yorkers such as increased property taxes. Middle-class homeowners are in desperate need of major property tax relief and I am committed to delivering the relief New York residents have been calling for. By becoming more vigilant in recovering the $4.5 billion in annual Medicaid fraud, waste and abuse, we will be able to return more money to taxpayers. As we move forward in this year’s budget process, I will continue my fight for a more affordable and prosperous way of life for the residents of the Southern Tier.”
