“In light of Governor Spitzer’s resignation, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the governor’s family and friends. However, now is not the time for partisan squabbling to prevent us from passing an on-time state budget. As state legislators, it is critical that we work together with Governor Paterson to ensure we pass a budget by April 1 that eliminates wasteful government spending, streamlines bureaucracy and provides middle-class tax relief.”
