“With the summer driving season on the horizon, there is no end in sight to the record high gas prices that we have seen over the past few months. As gas prices approach $4 per gallon, the strain placed on our already over-taxed middle-class families trying to make ends meet is immense. That’s why today I joined with my Assembly Minority Conference colleagues to call for a ‘gas tax holiday,’ a suspension of the three state gas taxes from Memorial Day to Labor Day this summer. While increased demand ensures that prices may continue to rise, lifting the taxes are our best option to help provide taxpayers and small businesses with much- needed relief from high energy costs and help jumpstart our economy,” said Giglio.
