Giglio Calls For Openness In The Budget Process
Assemblyman Joe Giglio (R,I,C-Gowanda) today called for budget transparency in a joint press conference with the minority members of the Senate and Assembly.
“In 2007, much-needed budget reforms were enacted that require the budget process to be both open and transparent. Unfortunately, these reforms are now being ignored, and Albany has returned to the bad old days of three men in a room. We, as citizens of the state of New York, cannot allow this to happen. These troubled fiscal times call for totally non-partisan involvement of the total legislature and the public. With a week remaining before the budget is due, I call upon these three men to open the process and proceed in a non-partisan fashion toward a responsible open budget.”
