Giglio: State Parks Could Be Open, If We Had A Budget
Statement from Assemblyman Joe Giglio (R,I,C-Gowanda)
May 20, 2010
Since the Governor proposed the idea of closing down our parks, I have advocated against these closures. It was unwise to close the doors to begin with, and now the State must undergo costs that are greater than the savings it would receive for closing them down. Our parks are vital to local economies and tourism is an important source of revenue for New York. Legislative leaders need to stop the embarrassing charade that has gone on long enough. Rather, they should perform the duties for which they were elected, and enact a State budget that serves the people of this State.
