Giglio On Interstate 86 Road Improvements
Statement from Assemblyman Joe Giglio (R,I,C-Gowanda)
August 6, 2012
“I am very pleased that an agreement has been reached by the Seneca Nation of Indians and the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) so that the desperately needed re-construction of an 11.5 mile stretch of Interstate 86 (I-86) may begin. The Seneca Nation leadership and the DOT are to be commended for bridging their differences.”
“The traveling public is ecstatic. Thousands of residents from the Southern Tier and Western New York must travel I-86 for work and other essential purposes, and the improvement of the highway will make it safely passable once again. Commercial trucks and trailers transporting goods to small and large businesses across our area will be able to do so via a highway that is safe.”
