Jensen on 2024 Legislative Session: A Waste of Time
A legislative statement from Assemblyman Josh Jensen on the close of the 2024 Legislative Session.
June 8, 2024
“Unsurprisingly, once again, the end of the legislative session has been defined by a mad dash to pass legislation that has had very limited public input and will have a tremendous impact on the daily lives of New Yorkers. It’s truly unfortunate that during these past six months so much of this legislation was not considered earlier, allowing members of both parties to get input on these policies from the people we represent. It has been a missed opportunity to prioritize actual common-sense policies that benefit those we serve, including making communities and neighborhoods safer, addressing our state’s affordability crisis and finding a solution to the failing nature of New York’s health care infrastructure.”
