NYS Assemblyman Brown Has Been Selected to be the 2025 Grand Marshal of the 91st Annual Huntington St. Patrick’s Day Parade by The Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 4 Huntington

New York State Assemblyman Keith P. Brown (R,C-Northport) was selected to be the 2025 Grand Marshal of the Huntington St. Patrick’s Day Parade by the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 4 John F. Kennedy at their recent meeting in Huntington. The Huntington St. Patrick’s Day Parade is Long Island’s oldest and largest parade. The Huntington Ancient Order of Hibernians has organized and generated the funds necessary to make this event a success each and every year since 1930. Brown, former Hibernian of the Year in 1997 and an active member, stated he is very excited to be the next Grand Marshal and continue to honor the proud history of the Irish in our country, our state and our town.

“No words can adequately describe how thrilled I am,” said Brown. “I am so humbled and honored. I have been a member for three decades, and it’s been a lifelong dream to one day lead the parade down New York Avenue. There is so much history behind this parade and its legacy. My dad ran the parade for 25 years as President of Division 4 and was the Grand Marshal in 1978. I am very proud to carry on this wonderful tradition.”

Brown will be the fifth New York State Assemblyman from the Huntington area to serve as Grand Marshal. The other past Grand Marshal Assemblymen were Hon. John G. McCarthy (’69) Hon. John Flanagan, Sr. (’74), Hon. Regis B. O’Neil, Jr. (‘98) and Hon. John Flanagan, Jr. (’03).

He is also the fourth father-son to be selected Grand Marshal. He joins Hon. John G. McCarthy (’69) and Michael L. McCarthy (‘10), Hon. John Flanagan, Sr. (’74) and Hon. John Flanagan, Jr. (’03), Dominick Feeney, Sr. (‘79) and Dominick Feeney, Jr. (‘14) and now Hon. Harry Richard Brown (’78) and Hon. Keith P. Brown (’25).

“I want to thank my fellow brothers for bestowing this incredible honor upon me and to my family for always supporting me. Slainte!”

“I am pleased with the selection of Keith Brown as Grand Marshal of our 91st St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Through his service to our community and his commitment to his heritage and faith, Keith embodies the very best of the Hibernians,” stated Matthew White, President of the Huntington Ancient Order of Hibernians.

The Grand Marshal’s Ball will take place on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Oheka Castle and the 91st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will step off on Sunday, March 9, at 2 p.m. from the Long Island Rail Road Commuter Parking Lot on New York Avenue to the Church of St. Patrick on Main Street, Huntington.
