Brown Drafts Letter Pushing for Accountability for Former Gov. Cuomo’s Transgressions
Assemblyman Keith Brown (R,C,I-Northport) and his Minority Conference colleagues on the Assembly Judiciary Committee have drafted a letter regarding the judiciary’s investigation into former Gov. Andrew Cuomo. This action comes after the conclusion of the Assembly Judiciary Committee’s investigation into several allegations against the former governor.
The scope of the investigation ranged from covering up and withholding information on nursing home deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic, to using state funds, time and resources to write a book that he personally profited off of, to numerous sexual harassment allegations made over the course of his political career.
The letter was sent to Attorney General Letitia James, Chair of the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics Jose Nieves, Acting Commissioner of the New York State Division of Human Rights Maria Imperial, Albany County District Attorney David Soares, New York City District Attorney Cy Vance Jr., Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Roach and acting Nassau County District Attorney Joyce Smith.
“After reviewing over 600,000 pages worth of documentation and interviewing 200 individuals, the report into all allegations against Andrew Cuomo was released. He must be held accountable,” Brown said. “I know the Report can help seek justice. We’re hopeful that law enforcement agencies will use the Committee’s hard work effectively and quickly seek the justice that his victims deserve.”
