Blankenbush Says No To New Spending
Statement from Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River) after voting ‘no’ on Assembly Majority One-House Budget proposal
March 14, 2022
“There are three things certain in this life: death, taxes and Albany lawmakers going on an out-of-control spending spree on the taxpayer dime. In their One-House Budget proposal, Albany Majority lawmakers proposed $10 billion in new spending. This tone deaf price tag comes at a time when North Country and Mohawk Valley truck drivers are paying over $5/gallon for diesel fuel.
“I will continue to vote down these out-of-touch tax-and-spend proposals. I implore my Majority colleagues to read the room and rein in the spending. Let’s pass A.8481 and slash state sales taxes for two years providing immediate relief on everything from gas to groceries. Our current course of record-high inflation and over-burdensome taxes is simply not sustainable.”
