Blankenbush Pushes for EMS Proposals to Be Passed in Assembly
Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C-Black River) co-sponsored legislation that would authorize reimbursements to medical service agencies for providing emergency medical care to Medicaid enrollees. While five proposals like this have passed through the Senate, only one has been able to make it through the Assembly. With only a few days left in the legislative session, these proposals must be prioritized.
Blankenbush said, “It is the last week of session for the year, and there are still four more bills relating to emergency service providers that have yet to be passed. We need to prioritize these important measures that would provide support to medical programs, or the status quo will continue for yet another year. We have seen a decline in volunteer EMS programs across New York, and these bills are necessary to combat that decline. Let’s get to work.”
