Blankenbush: Majority’s Budget Priorities Focus Too Much On Downstate
Statement from Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River)
March 12, 2015
“After reviewing the Assembly Majority’s budget proposal, there was no way I could support their list of financial priorities, and I cannot imagine why any upstate member would vote for it. Their budget plan continues to shortchange upstate by failing to restore agricultural program funding, which would support the upstate economy. The plan spends too much money on downstate infrastructure while upstate bridges and roads are crumbling, and it continues to leave our students without the education funding they need and deserve. There is still a lot of work ahead of us, and I am ready to join my colleagues to ensure better support for upstate priorities.”
