Blankenbush Says State Needs New Direction
A statement by Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C,I-Black River)
January 3, 2018
“The proposals that the governor outlined today are more of the same: more spending, more bureaucracy and no plan to cut taxes for middle-class families and small businesses. We’re facing a ballooning budget deficit estimated to run at least $4 billion. This speech should’ve outlined a new commitment to fiscal restraint, economic opportunity and Upstate job creation. After eight years of failed development programs, corruption trials and massive out-migration, this was a missed opportunity for the administration to chart a new course. This speech wasn’t aimed at taxpayers in the North Country. It was aimed at liberal voters across the country.
