Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre is Fighting for Critical Funding to Improve Our Communities
Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre (D-Babylon) announced that she is working to secure grants totaling $670,000 to complete infrastructure projects throughout the town of Babylon.
“This funding is critical to help rebuild and beautify our neighborhoods and make them safer,” Jean-Pierre said. “I’ll keep fighting to secure needed funds and invest in our communities, especially as we continue our long recovery from Superstorm Sandy.”
Jean-Pierre is pushing for a $500,000 grant to complete much-needed repairs to the Shore Road bulkhead in Lindenhurst, which was severely damaged by Superstorm Sandy. The project will help prevent coastal flooding and beach erosion and will improve storm resiliency. Jean-Pierre is also working to obtain a $100,000 grant to improve lighting along the Straight Path roadway in West Babylon and a $70,000 grant to improve lighting and landscaping at Venetian Shores Park. The projects are currently under review by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York.
