Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre: LaFrancis Hardiman School’s removal from state ‘priority list’ is huge win for students, teachers
“LaFrancis Hardiman School in Wyandanch was removed from the state Education Department’s priority list today, meaning that the school is no longer at risk of being placed under the receivership of the local district superintendent. This change is a testament to the tremendous amount of work put in by teachers, students and administrators alike, and I applaud each and every one of them. They should be proud of their accomplishments and I offer them my sincerest congratulations. I’m sure that LaFrancis Hardiman will continue to improve and work to ensure that all students receive the resources and tools they need to succeed.
“And while Milton L. Olive Middle School remains on the priority list, the state Education Department announced recently that the school has shown signs of progress over the past two years. With continued effort, I’m sure I’ll join the community in celebrating their removal from the priority list soon. It’s so important to fully invest in our local schools because, when given the opportunity and necessary funding, our local educators are bound to succeed.”
