Walsh Hosts Sixth Annual ThinkDIFFERENTLY Day at Saratoga County Fair
Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) partnered with members of the Saratoga County Fair Board to host the sixth annual ThinkDIFFERENTLY Day at the Saratoga County Fair on Thursday, July 20, 2023. The event, held from 10 a.m. to noon, offered sensory-friendly activities including animal shows, ground demonstrations and rides for individuals and their families to enjoy without flashing lights or loud noises.
Joining Walsh at the event was Senior Vice President of the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce Pete Bardunias, Saratoga County Fair Program Leader Greg Stevens, Saratoga County Fair ambassadors, and her son Terry Hynes.
“This year was another overwhelming success for advancing inclusivity and allowing all members of our community to enjoy one of the staples of our summer in Saratoga. ThinkDIFFERENTLY Day continues to grow every year, exemplifying the positive change that we’ve seen within the community since this initiative was started. Differently-abled children and adults deserve to partake in all the joys of life, and while there’s still plenty of work to do in this regard, ThinkDIFFERENTLY is moving the needle forward towards that goal,” said Walsh.
“The Saratoga County Fair is happy to join Assemblywoman Walsh for ThinkDIFFERENTLY Day. The day offers a wonderful opportunity for persons with sensory sensitivities to enjoy all that the fair has to offer,” said Saratoga County Fair General Manager Jennifer Flinton.
