Walsh Joins Saratoga County Family Court: Celebrating Reunification Month
Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) joined Saratoga County Family Court Judge Amy Knussman and others today to recognize National Reunification Month. During the event, Walsh presented three families with engrossed copies of Assembly Resolution K.2409.
June is nationally celebrated as “Reunification Month,” dedicated to recognizing and reinforcing the importance of family reunification. This month highlights the tireless efforts of those working to ensure that families, whenever safe and possible, can be brought back together. The 2024 theme, “Reunification: Shifting Power and Reconnecting Families All Year Long,” encapsulates the broader vision of reunification efforts.
“Having been a practicing Family Court attorney for decades, I have witnessed firsthand the meaningful impact reunification has on families. This experience has deeply influenced my work and commitment to children and families throughout my career,” said Walsh.
“It was wonderful to sponsor a resolution in the New York State Assembly to recognize Reunification Month in the State of New York, promoting this goal and the tenacity and work of so many individuals. Earlier this month, I spoke on this resolution in the Assembly chamber, where it was unanimously passed. Today, I was honored to present it to three of the families that have worked so hard towards reunification.”
