Walsh Honors Bowman Orchards’ Inclusion on the Historic Business Preservation Registry
Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) presented a New York State Assembly proclamation to Bowman Orchards today to celebrate its induction into the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry following Walsh’s nomination. There to receive the award were members of the Bowman family. During her time in office, Walsh has recognized numerous local businesses and organizations, including Curtis Lumber Co., Stewart’s Shops and Ballston Spa National Bank, all of which she nominated for this prestigious honor.
The New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry program is administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation and highlights businesses that have been in operation for at least 50 years and have contributed to their community’s history.
“I’m honored to celebrate with Bowman Orchards as they receive a well-deserved spot on the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry for their longstanding contributions to agriculture, conservation and our local community,” said Walsh. “For more than 70 years, it has been a gathering place where families make memories and where sustainable farming practices are at the forefront.”
“It’s businesses like Bowman Orchards that remind us of the power of local roots and the importance of preserving our agricultural heritage for future generations. I’m proud to recognize their hard work and leadership through this historic designation,” Walsh concluded.
