Walsh And Marchione Welcome Greenfield Elementary Fourth Graders To State Capitol
On Tuesday, June 13, Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh welcomed Greenfield Elementary’s fourth grade class for a fun and educational visit of the state Capitol in Albany. Students had the opportunity to see state politics in action, sitting in on a portion of the Assembly’s session proceedings, meeting with Assemblywoman Walsh and Senator Kathy Marchione (R,C,I,Reform-Halfmoon), touring the historic Capitol building and spending time in the New York State Museum. The day-trip proved to be an extremely rewarding opportunity for the children, who were extremely enthusiastic participants in the day’s activities.
“It was pleasure and a privilege to be visited by such an eager and inquisitive group of fourth graders from Greenfield, and to have the chance to talk to them about my role as a public servant in the Assembly,” said Walsh. “It is so important for our students to have hands on learning opportunities such as these, and I hope they all enjoyed their day in Albany as much as I did.”
