Walsh Weighs In On Tax Foundation Study
A statement from Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I,Ref-Ballston)
A Tax Foundation study released on Tuesday, October 17 revealed concerning facts regarding New York State’s business climate and tax structure. Upon examining the individual income, corporate, property and sales taxes of all 50 states, as well as several additional factors, the study ranked New York State 49th in the nation in business tax climate, citing the Empire State’s overly complex and inefficient taxes as a major reason why.
“Unfortunately, I am not surprised by the findings revealed in the Tax Foundation study released today. It is no secret that New York’s oppressive business taxes are forcing more and more of our hard-working business owners to have to consider taking their interests elsewhere. My colleagues in the Assembly Minority and I will remain committed to pushing for legislation that will amend New York’s antiquated and inefficient business tax system and draw more businesses here to create jobs and stimulate our states’ economy.”
