Walsh Welcomes Shenendehowa Exchange Students For Capitol Visit

On Tuesday, October 31, Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I,Ref-Ballston) had the opportunity to meet with Shenendehowa High School’s French foreign exchange program participants as they toured the state Capitol. After taking photos on the iconic Million Dollar Staircase, the students took part in an enthusiastic and informative conversation with Walsh. While a translator was present, the students, many of whom are studying English, did most of the talking, discussing topics ranging from Walsh’s experiences as a female legislator to her role in the New York state government and the current political climate in the United States.

“Programs like Shenendehowa’s Foreign Exchange are extremely valuable scholastic tools, offering our children the opportunity to interact with students from all over the world and exposing them to different cultures and unique learning opportunities,” said Walsh. “It was a privilege to have the chance to speak with this eager and insightful group of teenagers visiting us from France, and I look forward to continuing to support and participate in the exciting educational programs offered in our local schools.”
