Walsh Criticizes Misplaced Priorities in Assembly Budget Resolution
A statement from Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I,Ref-Ballston)
“The increased taxation and unsustainable spending in this year’s Assembly one-house budget resolution clearly illustrates our leadership’s misplaced priorities and fails to address the key issues that continue to drive New York’s residents and business out of our state.
“We should be creating a state budget that makes New York a better place to live and work by providing tax relief for our hardworking families and businesses, while also making strategic investments in important areas of need, including education, job creation, infrastructure improvements, school safety and support for our special needs community. Instead, this proposed budget continues New York’s recent trend of overspending while piling $1.7 billion in new tax increases on our already overburdened taxpayers.
“I look forward to continuing to fight for the responsible and effective state budget that New Yorkers deserve in the coming weeks.”
