In acknowledgment of her commitment to supporting the interests of small business owners, Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C,I,Ref-Ballston) has been awarded a perfect score on the National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB) assessment of the 2018 legislative session. Walsh is one of just four Assembly members to earn this distinction, a testament to her support of measures the organization has deemed beneficial to the state’s community of independently owned businesses.

This year, the NFIB awarded its ratings based on lawmakers’ voting records on eight bills the organization had identified as helpful or harmful to small business owners. The pieces of legislation included budget bills, regulatory actions and the New York Health Act. Walsh’s perfect score reflects her support of the NFIB’s members’ best interests, and her willingness to work with the organization toward achieving its goals.

“It’s no secret that New York’s small business owners are over taxed, overburdened and over mandated,” said Walsh. “That’s why, as lawmakers, it’s more important than ever that we work alongside organizations like the NFIB to support these hardworking men and women and provide them the relief they so desperately need. I’m so grateful to be recognized as a friend of the NFIB, and look forward to continuing to work with them toward making this state a better and more convenient place to do business.”
