“It’s welcome news to hear Gov. Kathy Hochul say she’s going to be more transparent and deliver on that promise on her first day in office.

“Gov. Hochul has increased the death count in our state’s nursing homes by almost 12,000 by including presumed and confirmed deaths in the total — which is now up to nearly 55,400.

“New Yorkers deserve to know what’s going on in our state’s nursing homes and state government. I’m pleased to see Gov.Hochul deliver on transparency and accountability. I look forward to working with her to get more answers for all our residents who lost loved ones.”
