Slater Concludes His ‘Chat with Matt’: Building A Strong Foundation to Best Represent the Hudson Valley Region

Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) recently completed his series of “Chat with Matt” events, including one in each town in the 94th Assembly District.

Slater held “Chat with Matt” events at Dana’s Diner in Carmel, Hill Blvd Diner in Yorktown, Lou’s Restaurant and Catering Diner in Kent, Sunrise Diner in Somers, Empire Bagels in Southeast, Putnam Diner and Restaurant in Patterson, and Flory’s Convenience and Deli in Putnam Valley.

The events provided an opportunity for Assemblyman Slater to discuss pressing local concerns with the residents of each town, including important issues like affordability, the need for accessible child care, proper care for seniors, and the opioid epidemic. These public meetings help inform Slater’s votes on key legislation in the State Assembly.

“I take great pride in being an accessible representative and I believe it is critically important to have these constructive discussions about the issues facing our region and state with everyone in my district,” said Slater. “We had important conversations about the affordability crisis facing New York State, provided important updates on community projects that the state is involved in and gave everyone who attended an opportunity to ask questions. I thank everyone who took the time to be there.”

Assemblyman Slater emphasized that residents don’t need to wait for a “Chat with Matt” to have their concerns heard and questions answered. Residents can always call his District Office in Brewster or email the Assemblyman directly at slaterm@nysassembly.gov.
