Assemblyman Durso, Supervisor Saladino, & Mayor Pearl Hold a Sports Equipment Drive in Massapequa
New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso, in coordination with Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino, and Village of Massapequa Park Mayor Daniel Pearl, recently held a Sports Equipment Drive at Massapequa High School-Main Campus. All items collected were donated to two local non-profit organizations, Pronto of Long Island which serves Long Islanders in need and Samba360 which provides used sporting equipment to disadvantage kids domestically and abroad.
“Our first annual sports equipment drive was a huge success thanks to the overwhelming donations from Massapequa residents and surrounding communities,” said Assemblyman Durso. “We were able to fill an entire box truck with a variety of used sports equipment - from baseballs, bats, hockey sticks, and soccer balls - that will give youth athletes from underserved communities an opportunity to participate in sports. Special thank you to Massapequa High School, Michael from Pronto, as well as members and local students serving on Samba360’s High School Advisory Board for helping make this event a home run!”
