Durso To Host Virtual Student Loan Workshop
Assemblyman Michael Durso is pleased to announce he will be hosting virtual student loan workshops in coordination with the State Department of Financial Services. This free event is for high school students and their families who are navigating the process of financing college and for individuals paying back student loans. Residents can either choose to attend on Thursday, February 25 at 7 p.m. or Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
“Our students and parents should understand the options they have when navigating the cost of higher education,” said Durso. “With student debt expected to top $2 trillion, it’s never been more important to understand what this means and the implications it may have. Please join me to explore your options.”
This workshop will cover topics such as student loan repayment, including repayment plans, forbearances, deferments, loan consolidation and forgiveness and ways to finance your education, including the FAFSA, grants, scholarships and various types of loans. This is a free event. Please call 516-541-4598 to reserve your spot.
