Assemblyman Mike Norris (R,C-Lockport) is partnering with the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital (OCH) for a Christmas in July Toy Drive  to help bring joy and boost the spirits of children with cancer and other serious illnesses at the hospital this summer. The toy drive is going on now through July 29 and the public is invited to drop off new, unwrapped toys or activity sets at Norris’ office in Clarence or a variety of locations throughout the community (see details below).

“I am proud of our community not only because of the generosity of spirit but because people here in Western New York know what it means to rally together when times are tough. We are there for each other, and this drive is a reminder to the families, hospital staff and most importantly, these children, that we are there for them when they need that reminder the most,” said Norris. “Please take a moment to pick up a new item like an activity set, Lego set, puzzle, book or toy with these children in mind and know your gift will leave a lasting impression.”

“The return of the Christmas in July Toy Drive is a testament to the resilience and compassion of our community, no matter the season,” said Jessica Mabie, Chief Operating Officer of OCH. “Through this initiative, we deliver toys and joy, hope, and healing moments. Thank you to everyone who’s contributing to brightening the lives of these remarkable children.”

This is the third year Norris is hosting the Christmas in July Toy Drive with John Oishei Children’s Hospital. He has often shared how the impact of meeting the children at the hospital the first year, and seeing their faces light up with joy when the toys were delivered to them by Santa, was a lifechanging experience.

This year, five partnering locations are available as drop-off sites in addition to the assemblyman’s office. Please remember due to hospital policies, all donations must be new and unwrapped, or you can purchase items through the online registry.
