Montesano Disappointed at the Lack of Mental Health Assistance in Budget

A statement from Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R,C,I,LBT-Glen Head) on A.3007-C

“I am disappointed that amid the current mental health crisis the COVID-19 pandemic has caused, the governor and Assembly Majority have pushed for and passed a bill which would decimate funding for mental health, eliminate treatment and care options and cut back on beds for the mentally and physically disabled. This is not what New York needs right now. The governor said he wouldn’t be cutting this funding if he got help from the federal government yet here we are, with many of these services and funds cut from the budget. This is an absolute travesty.”
