Novakhov Celebrates Funding for District
Today, Assemblyman Michael Novakhov (R-Brooklyn) announced the 45th Assembly District has received $20,000 in grants from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). These grants will go to Homecrest Community Services, a non-profit organization that provides community-based, multi-social services for seniors, youth and immigrant families, as well as the Para Arts Foundation, which works to improve the lives of disabled people with artistic inclinations by providing them with various venues of expressing their talents while addressing their special needs.
“I am so proud to be able to announce our community is getting these funds. Both these organizations do great work and I know they will put this money toward improving the lives of others. I also want to make sure people know there is still $37 million in Capital Projects Funds available, and organizations can still apply through January 11. The program will prioritize projects that address environmental concerns and advance accessibility, placemaking and community building. Awards will be announced in spring 2024. As always, I will continue to fight for funds for our district to help improve South Brooklyn,” said Novakhov.
