Tannousis Concerned with Governor’s Executive Budget Proposal
A Statement from Assemblyman Michael Tannousis (R,C-Staten Island/Brooklyn).
“We need to hold violent criminals accountable for their actions with a tough-on-crime criminal justice system. Governor Hochul’s plan to address New York’s public safety crisis is to throw money that we do not have at the problem. She intends to create a task force to address the public safety crisis. You do need a task force to tell you that you must hold criminals accountable for their actions. This problem will not go away by spending money that New York does not have. The Governor has completely ignored the migrant crisis as both our city and state are on the verge of financial ruin. The answer is not to spend $140 million to teach New York residents how to swim. Perhaps the swimming lessons will be useful as New Yorkers try to escape the sinking ship.”
