Assemblymember Wallace Welcomes Consul General of Poland, Local Polish Leaders to Albany
Assemblymember Monica Wallace (D-Lancaster) recently joined members of the Legislature in welcoming Consul General of the Republic of Poland, Adrian Kubicki, to the New York State Capitol for an event recognizing October 2024 as Polish American Heritage Month in New York. Assemblymember Wallace invited local Polish leaders, including General Pulaski Association President Joseph Mikolaj Rej, Jr. and First Vice President Christine Lukaszewicz Kibler, to participate in the ceremonies recognizing the rich history of Polish culture and heritage in New York State.
“Polish American culture is at the heart of our community in Western New York and across our state,” said Assemblymember Wallace. “We must embrace every opportunity to strengthen the bonds that connect the Empire State and Polonia. In this spirit, I’m thrilled to join my colleagues in welcoming Consul General Kubicki to Albany, and I thank him for his continued recognition of Polish American communities across New York.”
Assemblymember Wallace has been committed to supporting Polish cultural organizations in Western New York. She has sponsored and passed resolutions in the New York State Assembly recognizing Dyngus Day and Polish American Heritage Month. In addition, Assemblymember Wallace has secured funding to support the Cheektowaga Polish American Arts Festival, the General Pulaski Parade, and a new public arts statue in Cheektowaga Town Park that will pay tribute to the community’s rich Polish American Heritage.
