Assemblymember Wallace Announces $10,000 for Village of Depew Community Programming

Funding secured by Assemblymember Wallace will support summer concert series, Founder’s Day

Assemblymember Monica Wallace (D-Lancaster) recently announced that she has secured $10,000 in state funding to help the Village of Depew offer popular community programming, including the summer concert series, Founder’s Day, and Fall Fest. Assemblymember Wallace announced the funding during Founder’s Day, during which she also recognized Lord of Life Lutheran Church for their work to support seniors, children, and adults in need in the community.

“Community programs like the Depew Founder’s Day and Fall Fest are more than just entertainment for residents and visitors; they help form the identity of our community,” said Assemblymember Wallace. “That’s why I’m thrilled to once again secure funding to support these beloved community events. I thank Mayor Peterson and the other elected officials and employees of the Village of Depew who work so hard year after year to put on these great events.”

Assemblymember Wallace has prioritized securing funding for community programs throughout her time in office. She has secured hundreds of thousands in state funds for Depew, the Village of Sloan, the Town of Cheektowaga, and the General Pulaski Association to hold popular community events, including the Sloan summer concert series, Cheektowaga’s Freedom Fest, and the General Pulaski Parade. She has also delivered for Depew residents by securing $250,000 for air tanks for the Depew Fire Department, nearly $500,000 to help the village replace leaky and outdated sewer lines, $75,000 for a school resource officer program at the Depew School District, $120,000 for body cameras for the Depew Police Department, and $30,000 for new games at the Depew Boys & Girls Club.
