Assemblymember Wallace to Host Second ‘Mobile Legal Unit’ in District after Successful Cheektowaga Event
Following a successful event at the Cheektowaga Senior Center in September, Assemblymember Monica Wallace will again host a free Mobile Legal Unit clinic for seniors in the 143rd Assembly District. In partnership with the Center for Elder Law and Justice, the event will be held on Wednesday, October 9 from 12:30-4:30PM at the Lancaster Senior Center, located at 100 Oxford Avenue. Attorneys and paralegals will be available to answer questions regarding senior legal matters, including financial exploitation, debt harassment, medical bills, open enrollment for Medicaid and Medicare, and tenants’ rights. The event is free of charge and no RSVP is required.
“Older adults face a variety of complicated legal situations, and getting the right answer and guidance is often a financial burden itself,” said Assemblymember Wallace. “Every day, the team at the Center for Elder Law and Justice works on behalf of Western New York’s aging population by actively fighting all forms of elder abuse and providing critical legal resources. That’s why I’m thrilled to host them in Lancaster, bringing their skill and expertise directly to my constituents who need it most.”

In addition to staff from Assemblymember Wallace’s office and the Center for Elder Law and Justice, representatives from the Office of State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli will be at the event to answer questions and provide assistance with the state’s Unclaimed Funds Program.
