Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D, WF-Fresh Meadows) visited the

Chinese-American Planning Council’s (CPC) Queens Community Center this week to see the repairs funded by a $125,000 state capital grant she secured for the center. Visitors of the community center, seniors and children in particular, have been able to enjoy the use of functioning elevators thanks to the state grant. The state funding also provided air conditioning units for CPC’s daycare center.

“Centers such as the Chinese-American Planning Council’s Queens Center are vital to our community,” said Assemblywoman Nily Rozic. “This state allocated funding has improved the infrastructure at the center, facilitating its use for many in the community–especially those who rely on its services the most. I am proud to support the seniors, parents, guardians, and children that are directly benefiting from these renovations as well as all the community members whose services CPC reaches.”

The Chinese-American Planning Council is the nation’s largest Asian American social services organization serving thousands daily in educational, social, career, and community services through over 50 programs at 35 locations citywide. The Queens Community Center provides social services to all but especially to Asian American Pacific Islander immigrant and

low-income households through food access, health assistance, family counseling, legal services, childcare, and English translation services. The center is located on 41st Avenue and 133rd Street in Flushing and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.
