Assemblywoman Nily Rozic Visits Newly Renovated Auditorium at P.S. 24
Rozic allocated $250,000 in state capital funding for major auditorium upgrades at P.S.24 in Flushing
Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows) visited P.S.24 Andrew Jackson Elementary to see firsthand the auditorium renovations that took place over summer break, made possible by a $250,000 state grant Rozic secured for the school. Students now enjoy a newly painted auditorium fitted with new stage and window curtains, as well as a state-of-the-art audio and visual system.
“Keeping our schools up to date both aesthetically and technologically is important for fostering a productive environment for our students,” said Assemblywoman Nily Rozic. “Allocating state funding for this project was a no-brainer–especially after finding out the school’s sound system had not been updated in over 50 years.”
“The Team at 24Q is deeply grateful to Assemblywoman Rozic for her generous financial support, which has been instrumental in our efforts to upgrade our school auditorium,” said Principal Bani Singh. “Her commitment to education and the betterment of our facilities exemplifies the positive impact of dedicated public service and we are so thankful to her for making this significant improvement possible.”
P.S.24 The Andrew Jackson School is located on Holly Avenue and Union Street in Flushing and offers classes from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5. Additional community investments recently announced by Rozic include a $15,000 adult education programming grant for Young Israel of Hillcrest, a $10,000 female leadership programming grant for Women for Afghan Women in Fresh Meadows, and a $50,000 community program grant to Asian Americans for Equality in Flushing.
