Rozic Calls for Volunteers to Beautify P.S. 24
Community mural to revitalize playground
Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows) announced that she is mobilizing local volunteers to spruce up the school playground at P.S. 24.
“A new mural would provide students and the entire P.S. 24 community with a recreational space to foster imagination, learning, and fun. That is why I am leading a volunteer effort to give P.S. 24 students a beautiful school playground to enjoy.”
Last year, Rozic met with Principal Debra Cassidy and toured the school. Amongst the many issues discussed, Rozic committed to working with the administration on a new mural in the school playground. New York Cares, a community organization that recruits volunteers for different community projects, is set to partner with the school.
The mural’s theme and design is still being developed. A volunteer day will be announced in the next couple of weeks. Volunteers who are interested should contact Assemblywoman Rozic’s office at 718-820-0241 or rozicn@assembly.state.ny.us.
