In response to the announcement that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio will issue an executive order guaranteeing non-union city workers 6 weeks of paid parental leave, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows) issued the following statement:

“Paid Parental Leave is good for families and good for business. For far too long, America has been behind the times on this cause, neglecting to give its citizens what they need to be successful both at home and in the workplace. I commend Mayor de Blasio on making New York City one of only three cities in the nation to extend this benefit to employees. It is now time for Governor Cuomo and the State Legislature to pick up the torch and bring Paid Parental Leave to all of New York State.”
