Rozic Statement on NYC Directive Launching Voter Registration Forms in Five New Languages

Queens, NY – In response to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s announcement that voter registration forms will be made available in Russian, Urdu, Haitian Creole, French and Arabic, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows) issued the following statement:

“Launching voter registration forms in these new languages marks a step forward in improving language access and increasing pathways to civic participation. Today’s announcement reflects the City’s commitment to embracing our diversity, uplifting immigrant communities, and bringing more voices into the decision making process.”

Voter registration forms are currently available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Bangla. The new forms will be available for the upcoming election cycle on the Campaign Finance Board website, which is also found on the homepage of NYC.gov under “Register to Vote.”
