Queens, NY – After visiting the US Virgin Islands on an Assembly relief mission and meeting the Rabbi and congregants of the Hebrew Congregation of St. Thomas, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D-Fresh Meadows) reached out to the New York Jewish community asking for Kosher for Passover food contributions to send to the territories. In response, contributions poured in from dozens of schools, synagogues, institutions, and organizations including the Met Council on Jewish Poverty and the Hollis Hills Bayside Jewish Center. The food drive was also featured in Central High School’s Social Justice Month initiative. The contributions filled 20 large boxes which have been shipped to St. Thomas for Passover.
