Flushing, NY – Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows) hosted the New York City Department of Finance (“DOF”) at her district office for a property tax exemptions and payment plans enrollment event. Representatives from the DOF were available to directly assist and answer questions from homeowners. This is the third year Rozic has hosted the agency in her office to ease the application process for programs such as STAR (School Tax Relief), Enhanced STAR, SCHE (Senior Citizen Homeowners’ Exemption), and DHE (Disabled Homeowners’ Exemption) – which provides eligible homeowners with property tax relief in the form of a credit. Property tax exemptions are available for seniors (65+), veterans, people with disabilities, and clergy members. Rozic encourages residents who were unable to attend and interested in applying to reach out to her office for further assistance.
