Assemblywoman Rozic, NE Queens Lawmakers: Lack of Vaccination Sites Leaves Seniors Behind

Little Neck, NY – On Monday, February 8th at the Commonpoint Queens Sam Field Center, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows), Assemblyman Edward Braunstein (D-Bayside), Council Member Paul Vallone (D-Bayside), and Council Member Peter Koo (D-Flushing) will host a press conference calling on the City to open permanent COVID-19 vaccination sites in Northeast Queens. The lawmakers will be joined by NYC Comptroller Scott M. Stringer, representatives from Community Board 11Q, and local nonprofit leaders and civic associations.

The press conference follows a letter sent to Mayor Bill de Blasio in January by Rozic and her Queens colleagues. The lawmakers urged the Mayor not to leave Northeast Queens behind in inoculation efforts. Given the barriers New Yorkers are currently facing in receiving the vaccine, the elected officials are eager to ensure equity in access as more supply becomes available and sites will be needed to facilitate distribution.
