Assemblymember Patricia Fahy to Participate in Russell Sage College Panel on Women in Politics Friday
Albany, N.Y. – Assemblymember Patricia A. Fahy (D-Albany) will participate in a panel discussion with Sen. Cecilia Tkaczyk (D-Duanesburg) and Sen. Kathleen A. Marchione (R-Halfmoon) entitled “Women of Influence in Politics: A Panel Discussion” on Friday, Sept. 13 at Russell Sage College in Troy.
The panel will take place at 10 a.m. at Bush Memorial Hall and will be moderated by YNN’s Liz Benjamin. The event is free to the public.
Friday’s panel discussion is the first in a series of “Women of Influence in Politics” events, which will bring female leaders from different levels and branches of public service, to the Sage campuses. Women currently hold 18% of Congressional seats and 23% of statewide elected offices, while 24% of state legislators are women.
In addition to the panel, C-SPAN’s 45 ft. interactive multimedia bus will be visiting the campus. An interactive, multimedia presentation center, it includes touch-screen access to C-SPAN’s vast video library, interactive quizzes on American leaders and the political process and ways to connect with C-SPAN via social media. The bus is currently touring the country to promote C-SPAN’s second season of First Ladies: Influence and Image, which begins this fall.
