Today, Assemblymember Phil Steck presented a giant check, representing a $50,000 grant, to Guilderland Emergency Medical Services (EMS). According to Guilderland Town Supervisor Peter Barber and Director of Emergency Medical Services Jay Tyler, the funds will be used to purchase an EMS power stretcher and a power load system for an ambulance.

“I am proud to announce this crucial grant for the brave men and women at Guilderland EMS as well as the residents they serve,” remarked Assemblymember Steck. “I have prioritized securing investments in equipment and technologies that help our local EMS providers save lives and keep our communities healthy.”

"This grant is a pivotal advancement for our EMS team and for the extended community we serve,” said Jay Tyler, Director of Emergency Medical Services for the Town of Guilderland. “The addition of a power stretcher and power load system, designated for an additional ambulance, will not only elevate patient care but also prioritize the safety and well-being of our patients and dedicated crewmembers. We are tremendously grateful to Assemblymember Phil Steck for his unwavering support."

Assemblymember Steck secured this grant through a 2023 NYS Assembly Priority Project Grant. The EMS power stretcher and power load system will bolster the safety and well-being of Guilderland EMS crewmembers and patients.
