Palmesano Joins Local Sportsmen At “Sportsmen Awareness Day”
Discusses role of outdoor activities in the lives of New Yorkers
Assemblyman Phil Palmesano (R,C,I – Corning) recently joined with sportsmen and outdoor enthusiasts from across New York at the Assembly Minority Conference’s Sportsmen and Outdoor Recreation Legislative Awareness Day.
At the event, organizations specializing in hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreation activities provided information to those in attendance. Participants also had the opportunity to discuss sportsmen activities with local and state officials, as well as give feedback about the role that these activities play in their lives and how legislation can infringe on those pursuits.
“Our Second Amendment rights are constantly under attack in New York, and it’s vital that we stand up and work to preserve the traditions that we have enjoyed for so long,” said Palmesano. “Furthermore, New York’s outdoor recreation industry infuses more than $6 billion into our economy every year and plays a significant role in job creation and retention.”
