Hundreds of Needy New Yorkers to Receive Brand New Refrigerators and Stoves Before Holidays
Assembly Member Seawright delivers early holiday presents
Robbins Plaza tenants are getting brand new refrigerators and stoves as a part of Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright’s funding allocation. Specifically, 105 refrigerators and 102 stoves, total cost $120,000, are being delivered through Monday, December 12.
In the 2015-16 state budget, Assembly Member Seawright worked with the Assembly Majority to secure much needed capital funding for the public housing developments owned and operated by New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). “I am pleased that the delivery of new appliance(s) to tenants has begun. In Albany, I fought for and secured a total of $400,000 in funding for improvements at Robbins Plaza. The cost of housing in New York City is high and it is important that we continue to invest in public housing and affordable housing so that our families, children and senior citizens can continue to enjoy living in their homes,” said Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright.
“With the delivery of hundreds of new appliances, residents will see direct upgrades to their apartments that improve quality of life for the long-term,” said NYCHA General Manager Michael Kelly. “We thank the Assembly Member for her commitment to and investment in the community.”
